All

Just wanted to share my experience as long absences are hotly debated topics in this forum. I have been a silent follower of this forums and Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and answering various questions here for everyone. Last year when I was browsing through these forums I came across the idea that my long absence of 320 days(straight) can be split into 2 different years.

A bit of background. I was on Tier 1 visa(work through limited company) for the last 6 years and I was away from UK for 320 days in 2011(One long absence). I was not too confident about my case so went through an immigration consultant. But the impression I got was they were very confident my ILR will be approved. They mentioned you are within the rulebook so your case will approved. So was the end result.

Before you ask -

NO Absence Proofs/Letters were submitted. Only an excel with the list of holidays and Note saying personal or business etc.

Sample - 10-Jan-2011 20-Jan-2011 10 Personal

Documents submitted -

- Payment Sheet
- Self Assessment (PBS)
- SET (O) Application form + 2 Passport photos
- Passport & Biometric Cards
- Degree Certificate
- Life in the UK test certificate
- P60s for the last 5 years.
- 12 months payslips
- 12 months dividend vouchers.
- Personal bank statements
- Incorporation Certificate
- Latest Business Bank statements.
- Invoices for the 12 month period
- Contracts of employment
- Company accounts for the 12 months available
- Letter from accountant confirming earnings for the 12 months
- Invoice spread sheet on accountant’s letterhead
- Self Absences Letter / spread sheet

Copies where provided in the separate folder for the above documents. I went for 8:30 appointment and was out by 10:20 on 16-June(Monday) and BRP card received on the following Monday.

Hope this will be helpful for someone :)
Good Luck.
