Hi All,

Within few months I am going to apply for ILR but still I am not clear about English language test requirement . I am finding very difficult to follow guideline published by UKBA. I am holding a TIER 2 ICT visa .

For Tier 2 ICT , point base calculator is not giving any points for English skills but when I select as Tier 2 General then it gives points for English skills. Please see attachment .

Do anyone know why is it like that ?

1. As Tier 2 ICT holder what document should I provide to prove English skills ?
2. Is letter from NARIC is must to have document or nice to have document ?

Please help me with these doubts so that I can prepare documents in advance instead of last minute rush.

Use teir 1 general PBS calc for this. Thats whats i have been told from home office

I have the same situation. Please let us know your experience by using Tier 1 calculator for ILR through Tier 2 ICT. It will be helpful for us to be prepared.

This is related to Qualification and English and it is not applicable for those applying within the country. So, answer

for this question and we will be allowed to show points for Qualification and English language.

I have seen Amber comments on the thread posted by pdss,

If the degree is awarded 30 points for qualification and 10 for English Skills then that would suffice B1 English.

I have a masters degree from India, so my request for English language assessment to UKNARIC has been rejected. I hope it safe to go with PBS calculator (and UKNARIC certificate of comparison for my masters degree). However, i do not have any letter from University to claim the degree was taught in English.

On the other hand, I have below documents to support my application,

• 1. Current Passport + Previous Passport
  2. Current BRP
  3. Last 12 months payslips
  4. Last 12 months bank statements
  5. Last 5 years P60
  6. Life in the UK test certificate
  7. Tier 2 (ICT) PBS calculator (with points for Masters degree and English language)
  8. UKNARIC certificate of degree comparison (and orignal masters degree)
  9. Letter from employer stating, I am still required for the job and current pay as per SOC and COP.
  10. Emigration stamps to cover my absences ( i do not have any absences more than 180 days)
  11. Latest COS
