Can anyone explain plz

i send my passport for extension on 25/10/09 , acknowledge recieved on 28/10/09. visa expire 31/10/2009,
payment taken once on 27/09/2009. no refund were given upon invalid application.
but my documents was returned as invalid 11/11/2009 .due to photograph. was given 28 days to resubmit my application ,,
re submit application on 30/11/2009.
visa granted 10/1/2010
Can any one explain did i break my continuos residency
