Hello ,

I'm in a bit of a tight spot...Please see below:

Visa Type: Tier 1 General
First Tier Visa Date: 6th April, 2010
Renewal : 9th March,2013
Expiry : 9th March 2015.

I believe that one is eligible to apply for ILR "within 28 days before the end of your 'qualifying period', not earlier."

My qualifying period starts on the 9th of March, 2015 on the exact same day my VISA expires.

It is ok for me to wait to apply via PEO on that same day? or apply for FLR ?

Has anyone ever been in a similar situation?

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

It was granted in country..I was previously on a Post study work permit which was granted on 06/11/2008

I entered the country on a student visa in 17th September, 2007.

Added 4 years, 11 months, 2 days
Result: Sunday, March 8, 2015.

You can apply on 9th March 2015 in PEO or apply by post before that

I was worried about the fact that 9th March is also the day the VISA was expiring.

I called the Home office and they mentioned that I had until midnight 9th of March to apply.

I have to apply on the 9th because my VISA expires on the 9th of March.

Did you ask HO, is it ok to apply on 9th March i.e exactly 28days before ? And are you planning to apply by post or premium service ? If you dont mind share your email Id.

Hi,

When I spoke to HO, I gave them my dates and also made it clear that 9th of March is exactly 28 days before and He said ok. He said I could apply by two means either by Registered Post on the 9th March so I have proof that I posted it on the 9th or by PEO.

It is a stressful situation to be in.

Did you secure an appointment on 9th march. I think from yesterday onwards the peo will be open for you i.e 42 days in advance right. Please share your contact number, My friend was also in the same boat. Please keep update your status or pm me.

Please keep update your case once you got ILR. My friend will be applying for his ILR based on your case. So please help me. If possible plz provide your email. I have sent private message to you via immigration boards.

Hi Haiksuresh,

I got my ILR approved today. Like I said, my VISA was expiring today and to God be the glory it was granted.

So your friend should be able to apply the same day his VISA is expiring.

I changed my booking to Glasgow though.
