I have EC date as 13/8/2010 on Tier 2 G but entered on 19/9/2010 and so therefore will be looking for appointment on 24/8/2015. Are you correct in applying so early.applie? I think it's the 28 day rule that applies

Looks perfect to me..

I am Tier 1 General, so I am not sure about specific requirement for Tier 2 General, but otherwise it looks fine.

Yes, I guess 90 days entry clearance will be applicable and we can apply 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the EC date.
Below is the confirmation from Homeoffice:

Dear Mr X,
Thank you for your email correspondence of 30 May. I am sorry for the delay in replying to your email.
A Tier 2 migrant who entered the UK within 90 days from the date of their visa being issued may submit their application for Indefinite Leave to Remain up to 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the date of issue of their entry clearance provided they meet all the requirements for settlement.
For further assistance, please see pages 19 & 22 from the link below:

I hope this information is helpful.
Yours sincerely,
xxxxxx

Can you please point out the relevant section in the form for it ?
