Hi Group,

My daughter born in UK and had ILR visa .She stayed outside UK more than 2 years hence the visa cancelled.

I have found out Returning Resident visa.

Please advise how long it takes to grant this visa?

Also,Please advise Returning Resident visa is straight forward or complicated?

your help is much appreciated.

What is your status?

Do you still have a valid ILR?

You could register the child, or apply for the returning residence Visa.

You will need to demonstrate a lot to qualify for that visa.

Like purpose for leaving the UK.

Ties to the UK.

Whether the person has lived in the UK all their life.

Evidence of intention to live permanently in the UK.

In the case of a child sole responsibility will need to be demonstrated aswell.

I think so too. But with the introductions of biometrics, I am not sure overseas post provide a means of enrollment.

Visa application centers have biometric enrollment facility, where the child may be asked to go for biometric enrollment.

Well that is superb.

I knew the facilities were there but was unsure if it was for out of country MN1 applicant.

Digital imaging and fingerprinting facilities have existed at visa application centers for ages, since even before it was introduced in the UK.
I believe anyone that is required to enroll biometrics can be asked to attend the nearest / designated center, for any type of application where presence of the applicant in UK is not mandatory. I believe MN1 is one such application.
