Hi,
My husband is here in the uk on a spouse visa the 2 year route as we applied first week of july 2012.

He has been here in the uk since march 2014. We will need to apply for his Indefinate leave to remain by march 2016.

He has already passed his english knowledge test but has yet to pass his life in the uk test.

He has a b1 certificate from trinity college and he passed on 21st may 2015.

I do not understand anything written on the gov website about the new certificates needed from november 2015 so can someone help please.

Would he need to take the english test again? We took it in cardiff.

Thank you for any help

Hi

IMHO if the test was taken on 21st may 2015 and the centre your husband took the test in exists in this list :

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... ctober.pdf

You're fine.

5th November 2015 expiry is for the tests taken on or before 5th April 2015.

Ref link :
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _tests.pdf

I hope this helps

Regards,
S.

From Nov 2015 applicant's won’t be able to use ESOL qualifications as proof for settlement and citizenship applications. Yours B1 certificate from Trinity college will be applicable and you do not need to take the english language test again. Hope this helps.

ILR 6 letters proof of address help

Hello,

We will be apllying for my husbands ilr around february 2016. We are at the moment living with my parents.
I read we need to show either 6 letters in joint name or 6 letters each if we havent got anything in joint named as proof of address.

Do they all have to be different things or can we do for example for my husband:
2 bank statements but different dates
1 gas bill
1 hospital letter
1 confirmation if go registration
1 National Insurance letter

And same for me (but with my own name)? Im just confused as to if we need to provide 6 different letters or if it's okay to have slme the same but different months?

Thank you

We went to our local council who offer Settlement Checking Service.bI think most councils offer it but it was£60.
Obviously you can do it yourself but just offering one solution.

Our ILR appointment was a premium in person one and the day before it, we attended a settlement checking appointment at our local council..
We took all our documents and they sorted it and put together a bundle what we would need to submit.

We submitted exactly what she gave us and ILR was approved in about 2 hours start to end.

My husband is here on the 2 year spouse visa.
He came to the uk March 4th 2012 and his Spouse visa expires sometime in may.

So his 2 years in the uk is on march 4th 2016.

My question is can we apply in person for his ILR on 6th february 2016? I read somewhere it states we can apply 28 days before the 2 year period so do we qualify? Im asking as that is the only date that's coming up and we'd rather apply in person.

Thank you

Do you want to check your dates? That makes it 4 years. Did he apply for an extension at some point?

When did he APPLY for his visa and what was the visa ISSUE/START date?

Spouse visas after 9 July 2012 are a 5 year route to ILR, not 2 years.

We applied before the rules changed so we are on the 2 year route. as it was refused first time it took a further nearly 2 years to get him here.

His visa was granted/issued first week of february 2014. He flew to the uk 4th march 2014 and has been here ever since.

No earlier than 28 days before the second anniversary of his date of entry in March 2014.
