Hi All,

By the Grace of Almighty I have received my ILR last week. What a journey it has been.
It wont be possible without the help of this forum. The experts, gurus on this forum are brilliant they are million times better then any high street lawyers.

I have been a part of this forum for almost 6 years, and received valuable information through out.
Here is the detail of my application and details.

1. Application Form SET O
2. Passport Photos (2 each for main applicant and dependent)
3. Passports (1 each for main applicant and dependent)
4. BRP Cards (1 each for main applicant and dependent)
5. Personal Bank Statements
6. Payslips x 12
7. P60 last five years
8. Letter from my current employer.
9. Previous Employment Letter explaining annual holiday and Absences outside the UK during the past 5 years
10. Life in UK Pass certificates (1 for main applicant and 1 for dependent)
11. UK Degree
12. Co-habitation proofs: 18 documents covering last 5 years period
13. English B1 certificate
14. SA302- 5 Years for **SAFE SIDE ONLY**
15. Photo copy of all 1 set. including bank statement

Appointment 9am Croydon.
Reached 845, straight In.
Token received from reception 9am
Token called for registration 923
Registrar took 50 min Questions asked as below.
What was your initial visa when you came to this country ?
Where did you study and please provide the degree
Are or were you a self employed ?
How is your wife eligible for ILR
Please provide Original NI letter for her issued back in 2010
***** PLEASE DO TAKE YOUR WIFE NI LETTER IF SHE IS APPLYING FOR ILR WITH YOU******
Some other basic questions.

Bio taken 1015, doc collected for consideration. at 11am name was called for collection and got the good news which I have been waiting to hear for ages.

Congratulations mate.

Couple of questions.

1. Did you include SA302 as supporting evidence or you just kept in bag incase they ask for it.

2. Did they handout any form to you related to last 5 year history e.g. are you employed or self employed xyz years

1. I did submit, I strongly suggest you to submit too.as so many cases I have seen here deffered because not availability of sa302. Treat this as a important documents.

2. I went to Croydon where they ask verbally on the table. I take if you say self employed then they ask more. She did ask this question and upon getting a no. She moves on.

But you said you are employed then how you submitted last 5 yeasr SA302.

Was you self employed at some point in 5 years.

I was self employed for some period ... But didn't use the earning for visa. It was way back in 2011. I was doing personal work and my job.

One query:

You did submit your SA302/P60, that would have established that you were self employed, however briefly.

I was also briefly an IT contractor and was director of my own limited company in early 2011. I never used any of those earning in any of my T1 extensions.

I assume I will have to answer 'Yes' to the question - 'Was I ever selfemployed?'

Will appreciate your and experts opinion on this

The answer would be yes.

I might not have the NI letter for either myself or my wife however both of us had been working for last 5 years. Wouldn't the P60 suffice for this purpose. What is the purpose of asking for NI letter for dependant?

Exactly it was a news for me too. I don't know why did they ask but the important thing I was carrying it.

Keep the NI number out from p60 that will do the job.
