Hi all, im new to this forum please help me i have some issues. I hold a Indefinate leave to remain which was issued in 2010 before they started to take fingerprints, but i once was fingerprinted by another name in Nigeria where i applied for a uk visa, i am now wanting to apply for a biometric permit, my question is, if they scan my fingerprints will they flag as been used before or they wont. im worried if they can trace fingerprints to visa applications.

Yes, HO keep records of all applications etc.
So which name is your real name, the one used for a UK visit visa or the one you hold ILR on?

Yes, it might well flag up that HO holds the same fingerprints for a different identity. Finger prints are unique to an individual.

Just wondering, have you ever heard a case where someone was caught because the fingerprints matched to another name maybe??

I have read about a couple and watch enough Border Force to know that it can raise suspicion/investigation. It is also deception that you have used previously in a UK visitor visa application and HO don't take kindly to that.
Were you successful in your UK Visit visa under another name?

You entered the UK on a visitor visa with another identity. This can very well create an issue for you now and when/if you apply for British Citizenship.

You had ILR and 3 years AFTER getting it you applied for a visit visa?

Why would you do this? What is the full story?
When did you get ILR?
Why did you need a visit visa to enter the UK when you had ILR?
The fact that you entered the UK on another identity when you held ILR will almost certainly cause a problem for you.

Probably it will be very much usual to expect that they will trace it, unless your fingerprint also get changed now

I am even scared reading your issue
However they says: Under Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (as amended by inserted by the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001), fingerprints will now normally be retained for 10 years. This applies to
successful and unsuccessful claimants.
