Anyone had experience with IRL granted despite Erasmus?

Hi,

I applied for IRL and was refused on account of an Erasmus 1 year academic study placement in Germany. This was a compulsory part of my degree and I have since obtained documents from my university evidencing this. I have been going through Immigration and asylum chamber decisions and there doesn't seem to be a single case considering compulsory study placements.

I'd be grateful if anyone could share their experience as my appeal has been pending for a year now.

Thanks guys

What route of ILR did you apply for? What are your nationalities?

thanks @secret.simon
I am Ukrainian and I applied through the 10-year long residence route. Sorry, I should have mentioned it. I've been dealing with it for so long that I've nearly forgotten that there are other ways to apply for IRL

The problem is that you CHOSE to undertake the course with a compulsory 1 year absence from the UK. No one forced you to apply for that course... So it will be viewed by UKVI as your choice, as it was your choice.
