If you do not have the ALL the original passports to cover the full 10 years, including the one you entered the UK with, you will have to provide documents from the list in the form to prove your residence for the period covering the lost passport.

You can apply in person provided you have ALL the various documents proving residence covering the WHOLE period of the lost passport.

I have just lost the very old passport which had my first entry clearance. I have my other passports. Thanks for the reply. Very appreciated.
One more thing, I have left the country to apply PSW from back home and i came back UK after 200 days although i had granted my PSW visa before expiring 180 days. It was difficult to come back for me for my wife miscarriage. I have all relevant documents.
Could you please advice me for this situation.
Thanks

Absence of 180 days or more is a break in continuous residence and you risk being refused ILR based on long residence.

Helloo ...any advice will be really appreciated.
I came in UK as student on 2007 May and left the country on 20 Oct 2011 . I applied PSW on march 2012 and granted PSW on 15 April 2012. But i came back UK on 7 May 2012 . So it was 200 days gap even i had my PSW visa. It happened for my wife health issues. Before PSW visa refused , i have been granted Tier 2 visa which will expiring 2020 march.

Please help me for this. I never got visa refuse. And never been applied for discretion.

Thanks

It is not about visa being refused. It has EVERYTHING to do with absence and you were absent for more than 180 days which breaks your 10 years residence. The rules for long residence are very clear on this.

There have been members who have been refused due to absence over 180 days due to parents illness and death and submitting ALL the evidence.

is there any example for getting discretion in this kind of case ( more than 180 days absences). From your experience or do you know anything about discretion?
Thanks
