Hi there,
I have been silent reader for many years. I would be really thankful and grateful if you guys can spare some time and answer my questions.

i came into the UK in Feb 2010 on tier student visa and since then i have been on tier 4 student visa. my current visa expires in June 2020. i have made 5 tier 4 extensions in the UK. All applications were made before the current Leave to remain LTR expiry and never got a single time refused. I got my visa nice and smoothly. there was a little issue where i need your incidence, suggestions and help.

i was enrolled in Bachelors program from May 2011 to Aug 2014. my visa expiry date was 31 DEC 2014. However i finished my course earlier than the finish date. i finished my course on 25 may 2014. my uni told me that they will write home office to curtail my visa and i will be issued a new expiry date of my visa. I got admission in MBA and applied my visa on 4th Oct 2014 and got my visa granted in three weeks. one of my class mate received an email regarding visa curtailment from home office in August and the the new expiry date on curtailment letter was on 14th Oct. I wrote an email to home office on regarding visa curtailment but did not get any response.

My Questions are:
1) Did they curtail my visa or not? i have been living on the same address.
2) Me and my friend were in the same course and same batch shall i take the same expiry date as on his curtailment letter?
3) Ho to make sure my 3C was not broken in this period?
4)if i was overstayed for more than 28 days would they grant me visa?
5) in recent application there was a question regarding curtailment and i said NO. and as i said earlier i was never refused any visa.

i am nearly finishing my 10 years so i am bit worried. could you please spare some time and answer my questions. May God reward you for this.

Many Thanks

Subject Access Request SAR from UKVI

Hello Dear Members,

I have requested the SAR three weeks ago. I know it takes 30 days after home office confirms the identity. But how long Home office takes to confirm the identity? and does it inform that the identity has been confirmed? as i said earlier that i have submitted files and sent documents three weeks ago and didn't hear anything. I need to apply ILR in January so i am really worried and want to make sure that i get the info before filling the application for ILR. Could you guys please spare some time and shed some light on this matter. all experiences would be welcome and appreciated.

SAR could take between 45-60 days. Your history does not have any overstaying and your visa may have never been curtailed. As you have visa till June, be patient and wait until you get your SAR and then apply for ILR

Thank you Zimba for your prompt reply i really appreciate it. I have always applied my visas before expiry dates and never got refused. I am not even sure if i had any curtailment or not. This is the reason i have requested the SAR. Could you guide me little further please?. Does home office inform once identity is verified? if so then how do they inform? r shall i just wait for 45 days and see if they will send me my file?

Thanks again Zimba.

Just to let you know, I applied for SAR on the 14th of september 2019 but they did not accept my letter of authority. I got a letter from HO in a couple of days saying that they did not accept my SAR. Then I went to a solicitor and re-submitted on the 26th of September and I haven't heard from them until now.
This was my experience with SAR. I don't really need it anymore but thought it would make my life easy to find all my travel and visa dates.

Hello dear members,
hope you all are enjoying this festive period. I have two questions to ask, i would really appreciate if you guys could spare some time and share you thoughts, knowledge and experience.

Q1: I hope you all are familiar with D13 question in SET LR form. i am little confuse on how to answer this. i have been in the UK now for nearly 10 years. My whole family lives in back home. i have been student throughout this period and i am not married yet. My point is what should i write in the section where it is asked about my connection to the UK? This question has been asked on this forum but i could not get enough information on how to formulate my answer to this particular question.

Q2: Does right to work changes immediately once ILR is granted by using online right to work check feature using current BRP?

thanks in advance and Happy New Year All :)

Thanks for your reply Zimba
Below is the D13.
Please state what ties you have with:
• the country where you were born
• any country whose nationality you hold
• any country where you have lived for more than five years
You should tell us about any family, friends or other connections with that country.
-Country
-Social cultural or family ties

Thanks a lot for your time

Good Morning Guys, Hope you all are doing well. Could you please help me with the following regarding SET LR online application;
These questions are from the online application form.
1) Do you have home office reference no). is this my recent brp no or the recent application no which i made for the leave to remain?
2) This question is regarding previous addresses in the UK. In the past five years i have changed three addresses but do not remember the exact month. How shall i address this question.
Please share your knowledge and experiences.
Thank you so much.
Have a nice day

Hello guys and dear moderators

I’m going to apply for SET LR next week. I have been on student visa since I came in this country. I have received my SAR and there is no curtailment and gaps as I always applied visa before the current expiry. My question is

I have filled the application form from myself and it is pretty simple and straight forward, people have created a hype for ILR application so my friends are suggesting me to pursue it through solicitor. But I can not see any reason to go to solicitor. I have had not been out the country more than 100 days in total in past ten years. There is no criminal record.

I have life in the UK test
MBA degree
2x Passports
Current BRP expires in June 2020

I think this is what is needed in here.

I was refused tourist visa for USA in 2013 ( reason was that my reason to visit was not justified enough)and also study visa refused for Finland in 2014( reason was that they were not satisfied with source of funds). I did mention these all in the previous tier extension and got my visa granted in two weeks.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Hello dear members and moderators

Just couple Questions

I’m the only applicant for set lr so I shall only sign the first consent form the rest 2 forms are irrelevant to me?

Also do I have to tick the checklist and upload it too?

Many thanks
Bless all
