Employment on Ancestry Visa

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me!

I'm coming up to my ilr application. I've been on an ancestry visa for 4.5 years. I'm originally south african.

I had a baby a year ago (who's British, and dad is British). After my maternity leave I decided to not go back to work and become a homemaker. We live comfortably on my partners salary. We are not married, but living as married.

I now realise this may be a problem as I'll be seen as unemployed on my application. Is there any way around this? I'm enjoying my son, and do not want to go back to work just yet.

Please help. I can't find any info on this.

TIA

Ancestry is an employment visa and you will be required to submit evidence of this, ie P60s, payslips and bank statements.

You can even work part time, so that might be an option for the last few months.

The maternity period is not an issue as that is permitted etc.

Thanks for your response.

Is there a minimum income you have to meet?
