Hi all,

My partner and I have completed the Five Year Partner Route and are now applying for ILR online.

I've nearly completed the online form (I think - it's horrendous and not logical, but oh well), and it took us to the IHS surcharge site and is asking us to pay £1000!? I thought there was no surcharge cost for ILR as it's permanent? Have I entered in my information wrong or something?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Which form exactly are you completing?? Which link??

You have likely used the wrong form if asking you for IHS.

I have found that I'm using the wrong flippin' form. I've found the correct one now but what a hassle! They don't make this easy! There should be just 1 application portal and then you select which visa you are applying for from there - not have to go through the maze of the HMRC site and then click 'apply' on the one you're looking at

HMRC would obviously give you the wrong form as ilr is not tax related

If it 5 years on FLR m visa, then you need SET M for ILR.
