ILR Eligibility aft

Would be grateful for any advice.

My wife and I got married in 2014 and were first put on a 10 year route (in late 2014 - my wife had been on a Tier 4 Visa before that) for not providing sufficient evidence of meeting the financial requirement, although my wife's genuine parental relationship with our child, a British citizen, was accepted. (I was new to this, and naively assumed that 6 months payslips, p60, and letter from my employer, a serious institution, would be sufficient evidence of meeting the financial requirement).

In 2017, on our next application, we were moved to the 5 year route, as all requirements were met.

I thought we would need to apply for ILR after one more 30 month application i.e. in mid-2022.

However, filling out the gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk online form, we are shown a warning that my wife must take Life in the UK test, and the fee for the visa application seems to be that for ILR (£2,389).

Also, the eligibility section gives the following category of eligibility for ILR: "... you've got a family visa as a partner or spouse on the 5-year route, you must have been living in the UK for 5 years".[/i][/b]

Well, my wife is on the 5 year route, and has been legally in the UK for 5 years, so would appear to be eligible.

But the previous letter from the Home Office seemed to say that we would not be eligible until we had completed 5 years on the 5 year route (not 2.5 years on the 10 year route + 2.5 years on the 5 year route).

I am quite confused and stressed now. Am I filling out the wrong form?

Can anybody help with this question? Thank you very much in advance for any advice.

I should add that I am and was born a British Citizen, and that were automatically directed to the 'settlement' online application form after completing the 'eligibility' questions on the gov.uk website.

She needs 5 years under FLR(M) route to qualify for ILR. She must apply in 2022
