ILR after Limited leave to remain

Hi guys,

I applied for ILR in 2015 and was turned down because I had a gap sometime back in 2008.

I appealed the decision and was granted limited leave for 30 months on exceptional circumstances outside the rules. My BRP states: Limited Leave

In 2018 I consulted with a lawyer who advised that I could apply for ILR counting from 2008 when I had the gap.

Now I am just making last minute checks before I submit my application for ILR but I read from the immigration rules that you can only apply for ILR if yojve has discretionary leave for 10years.

I am quite confused and would need your valuable input please.

Thanks

You can apply for long residence SET(LR) if you had lawful continuous residence for 10 years. All visas count :!:

Thank you.
Yes indeed I have had continuous residence since 2008 until date.
I’m a bit concerned about all this because I’m due to make an application before March 15th and I have Limited leave to remain based on exceptional cases.
Based on these circumstances, the eligibility section on the website seems to suggest I can only apply for an extension to my current visa .

Thanks for your prompt feedback
