Can I apply for ILR without a Lawyer Rep?

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and read the FAQ thread which is very helpful. I have 1 question which seems not mentioned in the FAQ but if someone asked it before apologise for asking it again.

I am under the Tier 2 General to ILR route. My current employer has a legal service team, but my prior unpleasant experience with the team makes me reluctant to use them again especially ILR is very important to me.

In my case, may I apply for ILR by myself? Is there any adverse consequence when considering my application?
Or would you suggest me to use a 3rd party lawyer service/ rep?

Thank you in advance.

You don't need a lawyer to apply for ilr. It is not a difficult application to make.

A lawyer has no influence or advantage to your application.

Your choice if you want to use one. It will only make you poorer paying someone to fill in an online form. Remember also that if they get something wrong, it is you that will suffer with potential refusals or anything and he still gets his money.
