Set O Ancestry route

Hi!

I am writing for a friend. She applied for ILR through ancestry route (5 years) in August 2019. Went for her in person appointment for document check September 2019.

It has now been 15 months and she still has not received any approval or communication.

It is supposed to be 6 months, and I have read other commenters on this forum saying that ancestry is one of the faster processing times.

Also this is at least 7 months before the first lockdown.

I advised her to call ukvcas and they said to call home office. Home office said they are closed and will not do a status check or advise her if this is normal amount of time.

Has anyone heard of such a long delay on approval? Can applications get lost?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Many thanks.

Unusual for such a long delay for ancesty visas.

Presumably she applied online? Your post isn't clear.

Has she moved addresses at all or did she use an advisor or solicitor to apply?

Has she checked her junk mail or spam folders?? Ukvi emails often end up in junk mail.

Did she receive a "tried to deliver" card from dpd couriers and maybe ignored it thinking she didn't order anything?
