Indefinite Leave to Remain - 10 year route

Hi everyone,

I've been in the UK for the last 10 years as a student on multiple Tier 4 visas for my undergraduates, masters and PhD. I am currently on the Tier 4 doctorate extension scheme following the completion of my PhD and I'm planning to apply for my ILR in the next couple of weeks when I'll be completing my 10 years. I've encountered a question on the application form which I'm not sure how to answer. The question is whether I'm employed or unemployed or a student? Due to the pandemic, I'm unemployed at the moment. So I'm just wondering how to logically approach this question. The obvious answer would be unemployed. However, I'm on the tier 4 doctorate extension scheme, i.e. the university is sponsoring my tier 4 visa despite graduating from university. So does this still make me a student? What do you guys think? Or am I just overthinking this?

Thanks,
T

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for my ILR under the 10-year route using form SET(LR). I complete my 10 years on the 16th Jan and my current visa expires on the 31st Jan. Do I have to apply on the 16th when I complete my 10 years or can I apply before?

Thanks,
T

Hi Everyone,

I'm submitting an application for my Indefinite Leave to Remain on the 10-year route using the SET(LR) form and I'm just wondering about the supporting documents needed? The application has asked me to provide:

*My current passport
*All passports I held over the last 10 years
* My BRP
* Other documents

I'm just wondering what other documents are needed? I'm providing a police registration form as well as my undergraduate and PhD degrees. Is there anything else that I need?

The ILR LR route does not require extensive documentation.

Things you need to include LIUK result and meeting English Language Requirement which i presume your degrees are to be for.
