10 Year route query - advise need please - 3C leave

Hi all,
Please I need some advice here.
I arrived in the UK 2012 with a student VISA in which my sponsor (mother) lost her job and wasnt able to support me financially with uni, therefore, I didnt attend the university and my believe was that the student VISA will be curtailed.
Please note, this student VISA was granted for a period of 3 years (2012 to 2015).
Moving on, I remained in the UK, I meant my beautiful partner and we was blessed with child in which I then applied for leave to remain in 2014, ever since then, I have made further application "in time" hence I have legal stay since 2014. (Thats my believe)
However, when I made a SAR application this year, it was stated that my Tier 4 VISA granted in 2012 wasnt CURTAILED, and my application made in 2014 has "3C leave" (that is, it was classed as an intime application) meaning my legal stay in the UK will be counted from 2012!?
I need advise here please, should I risk applying for indefinite leave to remain next year after this finding on my SAR?
What are your thoughts?
