Hi,

I know this has been answered several times before but I'm a bit confused. I will be eligible for Set LR on 29th September. Can I submit my online application tomorrow (1st Sep)? I've used an online calculator and if I include the last day (ie..29th Sep) - 28 days before will be the 2nd of Sep if not its the 1st. Just want another opinion on this.

Hi All,

Just posting the below info in case anyone else finds it useful -

UK Immigration history
Previously refused multiple family visit visas, finally decided to appeal and was subsequently issued with two visit visas (2009 and 2010).
Sep 2011 to January 2013 - Tier 4 General Student
April 2013 to February 2017 - Tier 4 Extension
March 2017 to August 2017 - Tier 4 Extension
August 2017 to August 2022 - Tier 2 General
March 2021 to August 2022 - Skilled Worker (Change of Employement)
Set LR eligibility - 29th September 2021

All applications were submitted on time (before expiry of previous LTR).

LIUK Issues
I passed my LIUK test in August this year. However, when I went to the test centre, I realised that my first name was written twice [first name, first name, surname]. Spoke to the staff there and they said they can't change the details but I shouldn't worry since my first name and last name matched my chosen method of identity verification (current BRP). Came home, logged in to my LIUK account, went to personal details and got a shock! Apart from my first name appearing in the middle name field, my nationality (mentioned as BC) and place of birth (UK city I'm currently living in) was also incorrect. I am a 100% certain that I didn't fill these details. As far as I remember, when I registered for an account, I only filled in my current address, purpose of taking the test (settlement) and method of identity verification. So, I'm guessing these details were automatically filled. I was able to edit these details on my account but after passing the test. Anyway, I rang LIUK helpline and explained the situation. She said she can see that I've updated my details and told me that UKVI would have received the incorrect details from the test centre. But she told me not to worry as my first and surname was correct and my current BRP was used for identification. I read posts on this forum and found that a lot of users with incorrect LIUK details had retaken the test to avoid any issues. I thought of doing that but didn't get a chance. So I decided to take a risk and applied for Set LR with the same LIUK test. I wrote a cover letter and explained what happened. Tip - make sure you check your personal details on the LIUK account before booking your test.

I submitted my biometrics yesterday (super priority application). Since then I've been obsessively checking the online right to work status. It changed this morning and 15 minutes later, I got my approval letter from LIVSET decision service.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum - very much appreciated. All the best to everyone else who will be applying for their ILR. Can't believe I've waited ten years for this. I'm going to have a nap (couldn't sleep last night) and then out to celebrate :D

There are two dates:
1- Date you submit your application
2- Date you complete your biometric appointment

The first one refers to the date you're applying. For example, if you submit your application on Sep 1st and do your Biometric appointment on Aug 1st, the date of your application will be Sep 1st. You can find it on your compiled application form, on top of the first page.

Again, the rule of 28 days applies to you and you'll be fine.
