Council Tax Document

Hi All,

My wife owns the property we live in and the payments for the council tax are made through her bank account which is visible on the bank statements we are submitting as financial proof.

The property was originally owned by my wife's father, he left the property to my wife and her name is on the Land Registry documents. We are submitting the Land Registry document.

However for the council tax bill, the name only has my father in laws name on it.

Is it advisable to submit the bill as it doesn't have my wife's name? I am not sure if this is a required document and would appreciate advice please.

We do have enough joint / individual proof of residence documents from different sources, so the council tax bill is not something we need as a residence proof document.

You are not required to provide such a document
