Apply for ILR together while dependent visa extension has been submitted

Hello,

I am eligible to apply for ILR based on 5-year Tier 2/SW visa on 3/3/2022 (my SW visa expires in September 2024), but my wife is 2 months short of ILR. Therefore, she applied for SW extension vsia 2/3/2022 and books a biometrics appointment on 21/4/2022. now she is also eligible for ILR (her BRP issue date is 16/5/2017). So we want to apply together for ILR by varying her SW extension visa application to ILR.

The problem is:
When I filled the set(o) form online, I, as the main applicant, am asked if I currently have an existing application on which you've not yet received a decision, but when I add my wife as an additional applicant to the same form, there is no such option to give details of my wife's extension application that she wants to vary to ILR.

Should I just mention her variation in the main application part where such a question is asked ?

I am also thinking of my wife being the leading applicant and then I am as additional applicant, but I am not sure this works.

I noticed a similar situation was in the following thread, but does not have more information about the application form.

indefinite-leave-to-remain/main-applica ... n#p1905842

I would much appreciate for your help.

Best,
Shawn

Apply separately, two separate set O forms.

Thanks very much for your quick reply and the suggestion. If I understand correctly, the dependent's ILR application depends on the outome of the main applicant (me), so my wife's ILR application won't be considered unless a decision is made on my ILR application. Would separate application means a longer waiting time than normal ?

Thanks

Correct.

Potentially yes.

Thanks a lot. I will make separate applications on two separate forms more or less the same time after my wife register her biometrics for the extension.
