Tier2 dependent visa extension or ILR

Hello all,

We have the below situation, could someone help me on this.

I have secured ILR last year and my route was tier2 general. My wife and daughter who joined me a year later in UK still on tier2 general dependent visa. They are short of 5 weeks before they are eligible for ILR.

current visa end date - 25 Feb 2023
first visa issued - 28 Apr 2018
I hope they are eligible to apply ILR from 01 Apr 2023

My question is
should we still apply for visa extension? or submit visa extension and delay biometrics?
how long we can delay biometrics?
when can we start ILR application and what is earliest date we can submit ILR application?
what is the earliest date to book ILR biometrics?
what happens for any reason if they can't secure ILR 45 days after submitting visa extension?

Thank you in advance. Any help will be much appreciated.

Apply early and delay the biometrics until they are within 28 days of completing their 5 years.
