Dependent visa expiring imminently (April 14). Eligible for ILR on June 14. Can we apply for ILR now & delay biometrics?

Asking for a friend (non-EU passport holder, but that's not relevant I believe).

Their skilled worker (dependent) visa expires in the next couple of days (April 14, 2023). However, they complete 5 years in the UK in the same visa category on July 15 2023, and hence become eligible to apply for ILR on June 14 2023 (counting 28 days backwards from July 15 2023).

Can they submit their ILR online application (under the 1-week priority category) and pay the application fees right now, but delay booking their biometrics appointment until after June 14, 2023? Will this be considered breach of any immigration rules? Can they continue to be gainlyfully employed by their current employer whilst waiting for biometrics (and thereafter whilst waiting for a decision on their ILR application)?.

Not an ILR expert ... but I believe
The key date for any application is the day it's submitted and paid for online - the biometrics appointment is just to process the biometrics.
