Hi everyone,

I still have 3 more months before I become eligible to apply for ILR under 10 year long residence. The problem is my visa expires 3 months before I can complete 10 years rule. How can I renew my visa for at least 3 more months other than going back to study? Can I leave the country before my current visa expires and return back as visitor? Does visitor visa count towards 10 years long residence? Is anyone else in the same boat as mine?

I know that my best option is to go back to study but I'd like to know if there are others option.

I appreciate your help...

Regards.

Time spent as a visitor may be included.

Thank for your reply sushdmehta. It sounds very risky to me but very tempting. If I do it that way I'll be saving lot of money. I wonder if anyone has done it this way. Do you know? Anyone?

Visitor status may be included under Long residence. However, a visitor applying for ILR may be refused under 322(7) because of 41(i) & (ii), unless there was a relevant change in circumstances.
