Hi All,

i am most grateful to God and also to all on this forum especially Jami for your help and i am happy to inform that i was today granted ILR with my wife with almost 800days absence. my story...
Appointment was at 9.30am and we arrived at PEO at 8.30am, we went through security and almost immediately were called to see the case worker. He was quite very nice and friendly but also very frank about my chances.
he asked for the application form and immediately he saw my absence ss he asked for the total as i had not totalled it up and i had discounted weekends so i told him that it's around 550 days discounting weekends but he said i shld include the weekends so i said around 750-800days and he immediately said that he will need to see his supervisor to approve that as it was high. i immediately pointed out that none of the absences were up to 90days at a time and he said that even with that it was still high...

then he asked for the employer's letter supporting those absences and i gave him two sets of letter
1) from my HR where each trip was stated and on the comments column a brief mention of what i was doing and
2) also another letter from my dept manager explaining that i was the most suitable person for those roles due to my experience within that environment as i was originally from there.

he took those and asked me to wait in the hall and that i will not be asked to pay until the application is approved. i told him that i hope he will use his discretion favourably and he said he hopes so too....i went back tothe waiting area and in less than 5mins i was called back and told approved!! before 9.30am i was granted ILR with my wife and we made the payment and waited two hrs to pick up the passport! we didnt relax until we got the passports and confirmed our details!! whew sigh of relief... thanks all and goodluck to those expecting

Cheers

If you informed your employer and you holiday/or sickness or any things has a valid reason and you are economically active during these days than there could be a chances of positive discretion

Congratulations and thanks for compliments.
Absences is a major issue in some of the cases and a routine type of employer letter just mentioning the dates is not sufficient.
I think that earlier template made sticky needs replacement with your one.

I gave them council tax letters and utility bills, bank statements, GP letters etc....cant really say which ones he looked at. my impression was that attention was focused on my earnings and absences.

Thanks Ramay, Luckily none of my absences exceeded 90days at a strectch. The highest i had was about 88days at one go. I understand that they are more strict with that.

Where did you get such information than they are more strict with 90 days more than 180?

Your case is amazing 800 days that is more than 2 years away!!!!

A family friend was yesterday granted ILR at PEO Cryodon with 804 days business related absences with none exceeding 90 days at a time. He is self employed under HSMP pre- November 2006 scheme.
It may the first instance on this board of 800 plus days disregarded at PEO.

If you make an effort to read the topic in which you have posted, you will note that it is definitely not the "first instance"!

With due respect I dont think "almost 800" and "800 plus" means the same thing. There were private absences as well and case worker had calculated total absences at 866.

Both these instances prove that there is no upper limit of job/business related absences and it is the quality of evidence -in support of justification of absences and of maintaining main home in UK during the qualifying period - that counts.

more than 90 days????

So I see looks like Ukba is OK with more than 180 days absence on business trips. What about more than 90 days at one stretch? Are they more strict about that?

Solihull is difficult to get at short notice, u need to book about 6weeks in advance.... just try the online system early in the morning or very late at night for spaces. it took me a while to get mine.
Goodluck
