Hi All,
i am most grateful to God and also to all on this forum especially Jami for your help and i am happy to inform that i was today granted ILR with my wife with almost 800days absence. my story...
Appointment was at 9.30am and we arrived at PEO at 8.30am, we went through security and almost immediately were called to see the case worker. He was quite very nice and friendly but also very frank about my chances.
he asked for the application form and immediately he saw my absence ss he asked for the total as i had not totalled it up and i had discounted weekends so i told him that it's around 550 days discounting weekends but he said i shld include the weekends so i said around 750-800days and he immediately said that he will need to see his supervisor to approve that as it was high. i immediately pointed out that none of the absences were up to 90days at a time and he said that even with that it was still high...
then he asked for the employer's letter supporting those absences and i gave him two sets of letter
1) from my HR where each trip was stated and on the comments column a brief mention of what i was doing and
2) also another letter from my dept manager explaining that i was the most suitable person for those roles due to my experience within that environment as i was originally from there.
he took those and asked me to wait in the hall and that i will not be asked to pay until the application is approved. i told him that i hope he will use his discretion favourably and he said he hopes so too....i went back tothe waiting area and in less than 5mins i was called back and told approved!! before 9.30am i was granted ILR with my wife and we made the payment and waited two hrs to pick up the passport! we didnt relax until we got the passports and confirmed our details!! whew sigh of relief... thanks all and goodluck to those expecting
Cheers
