Am I ready for ILR?

Hi All,
I am hopping to get some advise on my case.
I am a work permit holder (old closed category) and close to my completion of 5th year. My dates are as follow:
13/02/2007 > got stamp for work permit
17/03/2007 > Entered the UK 1st time (32 days gap in my first entry to the UK from stamp date on work permit)
13/02/2012 > current permit expires
The following are the dates of absences:
10/11/2007 left the UK > 20/11/2007 returned to the UK (10 days)
16/02/2008 left the UK > 17/03/2008 returned to the UK (30 days)
31/10/2009 left the UK > 30/11/2009 returned to the UK (31 days)
My questions are as follow:
1. When earliest I can apply for ILR considering 28 days rule i.e. which date? Will I be eligible for ILR considering I delayed my 1st entry by 32 days? I am thinking to apply on 16/01/2012 by post (28 days before expiry of current visa)
2. Will my 1st delayed entry (32 days) to the UK be considered towards total absences? If yes I will be in total out of country by 108 days. Is that a problem?
3. If my visa expires while they are reviewing my file, will I be on legal status to continue until decision is made?
4. Are following documents sufficient:
Set O Form
Passports (my wife and myself)
Official work permit documents
Marraige certificate
Tenancy agreement (joint names)
NHS cards
3 month pay slips (myself and my wife)
5 yrs P60s
3 month bank statements (joint names)
3 months saving account statements (showing funds)
Life in the UK tests pass certificates for both
Letter from employer with specifications asked
Our educational qualifications
My questions on documents are as follow:
1. I don't have any other cohabitation document other than tenancy agreements and joint bank statements. Are they sufficient? Do I have to produce statements for all 2 years?
2. Do I need to submit original employement contract?
3. Does the employer letter need to spell out each absences from the UK as they were paid holidays?
4. What proof I need to provide to satisfy 'Criminality checks'? I never had anything other than a few paid fixed penalty tickets.
I would be grateful if anyone can please address all my questions.
Thanks,
Dev
