Hi,
The 5th anniversary of my 5 years period will be on 26th 2012. My situation is such that I want to apply for my ILR ASAP. I know i cannot apply 28 days before the 5th anniversary but not sure if I have to include 26th April when counting days? So simply what I want to know when is teh earliest I can apply?

I switched in country and HSMP was granted on 26th April 2007

As yours was in country I would suggest applying 28 days before 26th April.

The earliest you can apply is Thursday, 29 March 2012.

Thanks a lot sage...I was actually confused if I should apply on 29 March or 30th March.
