IDLR - Entering UK before entry clearance start date

Hi Guys

I'm due to apply for my IDLR soon and had a query; Entry clearance visa was granted to me on 15 June 2007 (for five years), however I entered the UK on 5 June 2007 (I also had a valid visit visa). The issue is that no one, including myself or the UK border agency, noticed that my entry clearance started from 15 June (the immigration officer even stamped my work permit and entry clearance and both have 5 June 07 stamped).

Will this create a problem for me when I apply for IDLR as I've heard that the 5 year period begins only if you enter the UK on the entry clearance visa which I evidently didn't. What date do I enter on my application form?

Thanks !

i dont think it should matter as long as you were within the country legally. The 5 year period starts from the day that your visa under which you qualify starts. People who apply for HSMP / Tier 1 from within the UK will also not have the same date of entry as their visa issue date.

Thanks for the reply. If that is the case then what date should I mention on the form; 6.1 - "When did you first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based."

Thanks
