There would be no difference whether applying as child or spouse in terms of time to process.
In general, if you wait more than three weeks (15 working days) you are entitled to expedite it.

It's not law, but an internal target.

You are more than entitled to complain. A family permit is meant to be issued as soon as possible. You may have Gerry's quoting you timescales for settlement visas under the immigration rules (three months). A family permit is not a settlement visa.

The priority service is not relevant to you other than to show that it is possible to deal with visa applications quickly if UKBA put their mind to it.

Before you apply, you must:
prepare the supporting documents that you will need;
be tested to show that you do not have tuberculosis (if you want to come to the UK for more than 6 months);

Thanks for replying. Was the test expensive? Did you have to attend a special clinic?

If you haven't already done so, study this guidance. It has a section on timelines and medical certs. It is only guidance though.

Thanks, this is the organisation that the UK make applicants attend.
This warrants a complaint. You are not applying under the immigration rules. The guidance I sent the link for is clear that a medical certificate cannot be asked for.
It may be low on your priorities just now, but keep it in mind.

UKBA is mentioning something else on their site and doing totally differently ..... 100 % EEA fp processing time from Germany (on their site) is about 3 to 5 working days but my family could not hear anything yet from their end even after one month.......... so don't worry it's happening all over the same....
