Hi everyone,
I am just wondering how you get your PR stamp if you have the passport returned? Do you send your passport back again upon HO request or you just receive the stamp on a A4 sheet through post?

Both options are valid. Depends on the CW. Sometimes they will ask for the passport back. Sometimes they won't bother and issue on standalone A4.

For EU nationals it will be on a separate card.
For nonEU nationals on an A4 piece of paper
