My RC is valid until 2016! We got this based on my wife having Irish Citizenship but working in UK FOR 22yrs - we live in Northern Ireland! Because we got RC IN 2011 will we now have problems with getting PR? We have a little girl, never claimed benefits! All advice is very much appreciated as this forum was so helpful in 2010/2011.

No; you will be covered by the transitional arrangements that dictate that you will be able to apply for PR 5 years after continuous residence in the UK. This is because you had applied before things changed.

Another note: if you have been living on the island of Ireland (obviously including Northern Ireland) continuously for 3 full years as husband and wife, you will be able to apply for Irish citizenship. See here: http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP11000014.

Thankyou so much for your quick reply, can always trust here for advice. I thought that but wasn't sure. Think we will go down the route of Irish Citizenship.
