I believe people from Nov are still waiting, let alone December. Although, I believe there will be fewer application in December due to year end and Christmas.

You are right. I am thinking somewhere in mid June something should come up.
I hate this idea of them keeping all the docs and the passport for so long. They should just verify and send them back. This just doesn't sounds right

All that I know is first of all HO gives priority to EU nationals. Secondly family members applications come into queue only after issuing COA.
So EU applications go straight in the queue after confirmation email and given priority. While family members need to wait first for COA for their application are queued in without any priority.

I applied in December, so around 5 weeks before you and still nothing.
Mind you, it was Christmas and New Year holidays, so realistically I am about 3 weeks ahead of you.
It looks like its a 5 and a half months wait at the moment for non EEA nationals

EEA citizens is around 6-7-8 weeks depending on a situation.

BUt you guys a right, I dont get why they are keeping passports there for such a long time since they are issuing cards to non EEA citizens now?
Passports, both yours and partners (if you have an EEA family member) are there just for an ID, nothing else. Before you would get a sticker so I kindda understand why they wouldnt want you to keep taking and sending back your documents, but since mid 2015 they are sending cards to non EEA applicants for both PRs and 5 year residence.

I have asked MP for the return of my passport, but got really worried after informing my solicitor about it. As she told me I do not have to chase too much HO regarding my application.She said that my application is based on mixture of my wife's self-employment, private contracts and employment and I don't want them to reject it by asking my passport back via MP.
Does anyone think its possible to get rejection on that basis, my CAO was issued with permission to work. On passport request they returned my wife's passport only. I had to travel so I asked MP to help me get it back. We applied in January 29th.

May I ask that what is your nationality? Sometimes some Embassy can issue Emergency Travel Document with Direct Flight while your Passport is at Home Office. I cannot confirm this but have you explored this possibility with the Embassy of your country? Of Course they will need written permission from HO and that will a headache also. I just saw December 7th people getting PR cards so your card is within the radar in 1 month or so.

I've also applied in January. Timeline is following:

Application for EU and Non EU PR posted: 04/01/2016
Application received by HO: 06/01/2016
Money taken: 07/01/2016
Biometrics letter received: 27/01/2016, dated 21/01/2016
Biometrics enrolled: 30/01/2016
COA received: 11/02/2016
Return of passports requested in late February, received about 2 weeks later.

Looking at other people's timeline, January applicants should start getting documents back in another month or so. At least that's what I am hoping for.

Wondering if there's any movement for January 2016 applicants ? Hopefully December should be finishing by now ?

I think the earliest for January will be mid-June. I sent my wife's application on 7-Jan and we received the COA on 9-Feb.

It's very difficult to wait now. All our original documents are with them for months now. I don't' know why do they need them

Have not receive any letter from them or email.

I have seen Home Office have started January application for EEA2 and have seen one EEA4 application sorted of 15 December.
Considering December holidays, I hope around 8/10 of January we will see replies on January applications.

Coa with right to work: 05/02/2016
PR still waiting...

Return passport request 18/05/2016 - Not received.
Second request 01/06/2016 - Not received.
Send letter with prepaid envelope to Liverpool 06/01/2016 - Still nothing.
Call to Liverpool 07/06/2016 - They told send for as request online every 10 days.
Third request 13/06/2016 - I think again nothing.
They absolutely ignore everything.

17/06/2016 My holiday all paid
Every morning I wait postal man, and nothing nothing nothing, I have stress

I can visit Liverpool office and take my passport?
Anybody know address Liverpool office?

Ah i can understand your frustration.
i believe your case is decided and they dont see any point of sending you passport.
i am sure this week or early next you will get the stamped passport !!

01 fev/ received COA.
