Hello Everyone,

First of all ,Thanks to all who share their experiences here ,which has helped me and the countless others using this forum.

I want to share my experience from November 2016 while travelling from Prague to UK with "Family member of EU citizen" card and WITHOUT EEA family permit.
I live in Prague with my spouse who is from another EU country.

Airline-EASYJET
As expected, the easyjet lady initially said that I needed a visa for UK ,to which I Showed her the info from UKBI stating that article 10 residence holders dont need any visa while travelling together with EU spouse.
It took her 10 mins and 2 -3 phone calls to accept it and finally they let me in.

Landing-

we went to the non EU line, I had to fill the landing card .
The immigration officer was polite, he asked me what Im doing in the UK and if I have a visa.

I showed my residence card and non eu passport along with spouse's EU passport.
He asked me how long will we stay in UK ( WHICH I SUPPOSE HE SHOULDNT BE ASKING)
But neverthless, i showed him details of our accomodation and that my wife is exercising her EU rights.
He went inside to verify my Czech residence card ( which by the way is a blue booklet issued to spouses of EU citizens )
He came back and stamped me for 6 months EEA permit and off we went.,
Overall a smooth experience, apart from the EASY JET counter.
I reccomend everyone to take printouts of all documents like -IATA visa checker, where it clearly states that no visa is need for EU spouse, marriage certis,

PS- this is only when u hold a residence card issued by country A living with your wife from country B.
If you have residence card from country of your spouse, they willl not let YOU IN,=.
so please keep in mind.

To sum up, I ENCOURAGE everyone in similar situation to not apply for any EEA family permits, because the stamp I got in airport is also for 6 months and also lets you work as long as your spouse is exercising her EU rights.

I hope it helps someone :)
cheers

Well done, both you and kindly border guards have followed procedure by the book.

Hi, I believe this a more updated version of the Border Operations Manual if it helps anyone: Includes A1 country (Croatia) and not A8 Countries.
