Original Indian passport and British citizenship registration certificate posted to Peterborough office by Royal Mail next day delivery. RM goofed up and delivered late by a day, had sent the post to some other distribution centre in another part of the country erroneously which had me very worried. No delivery sms acknowledging receipt received from Passport office yet however- regretting applying online already as I thought processing child application would have been quicker so at least would have received documents back by now. Really should have gone for 1 week fast track service.
Update:
Received
letter on 14th that
Passport Office couldn't trace countersignatory at address given - for heaven's sake, it was my colleague who had given my own office address so how is this possible. Had to repost another form on 18th with new counter signature - who was an old colleague and friend.
Passport Office then sent another
letter in about 2 days to her saying she needs to provide a lot of detail about myself and some details about child on official company
letter head. This sounded a bit crazy as my friend had signed in personal capacity and mentioned she is my friend on app, so what has her company got to do with my child. Anyway , she had to get permission from hr to be able to use the co letterhead and managed to after a lot of convincing.
Letter posted back next day.
Finally on 26th got sms of
passport dispatch confirmation. Received
passport and supporting docs on 28th.
I may have been amongst the unfortunate few whose child's
passport took so long looking at other people's timeline. Possibly should have gone for 1 week fast track.
