Why cant you just apply to the Indian Consulate for a passport ? Why would they refuse to give you one - they dont know you have applied for MN1 naturalisation as well. You can then travel to India on Indian passport and when you want to come back , just come back couple of weeks earlier without the baby and apply for his British Passport using the Mn1 ( takes a week) and send it back to India. Anyone sees any flaw in this approach ?lolalola wrote:I applied for my daughter(UK born 6 months old)'s citizenship certificate in 3rd weeek of may. I need to travel to India urgently as my daughter's great grand mother is not well and in ICU. i sent an email and a letter to UKBA people.. It is already 2 months+ ...I dont know when will they open my daughter's application form which is straight forward application. I dont know what checks they need to do for a 6months kid.
I am totally upset.. but cant do any thing.. I have received scanned copy of doctor's letter explaining situation .. i dont think they are considering any urgency genuine requests too.. I approached indian embassy and they told us it is not possible to issue passport as we already applied for UK citizenship for my daughter.
We can not do anything other than waiting and checking post box with a hope ...

I am going to apply MN1 for my 2 kids. Can some one help me in determining the fees. I can see payment slip and fees of £669 per child but if its 2 kids how much i will have to pay. Is there any discount for second child and do i have to use two payment slip.
My second question is that i have lost my marriage certificate and only have a copy which is in urdu. So any suggestion for this.
I would like to say thanks in advance.
Kind regards.
