Surinder Singh Route-Help!

Post by kishni2001 » Wed Aug 27, 2014 9:53 pm

Hi there
I am a Filipina and my husband is British and has been exercising his treaty rights here in Spain as a full time worker. We have been living here for a year and he is working full time. We have 2 children studying here as well so we can prove that our centre of life is here in Spain. Initially, we would like to visit the UK for christmas for 2 weeks and return back to Spain. we would eventually move back but that wont be till June next year. Could I apply for the EEA family permit even if it is just for a holiday or is it only applicable if we were actually returning to the UK? Any advise would be appreciated....

You will be fine to apply for an EEA family permit.

Thanks! Also, once we make an application, does everything need to be translated in English like rental contracts etc or is it ok if they are in Spanish? If so, does the translation need to be official or can we translate it ourselves?
