MN1 (registration) application processing timelines (only)

Hi All - i applied for my 12 month's old daughter's MN1 back in June 2014, here's our timeline.

Eligibility criteria: section 1(3)
Method of application: NCS (Bristol, Avon)
Date of NCS Appointment: 12th June 2014
Date of receipt by UKBA: 13th June 2014
Date of debit of fees: 26th June 2014
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 26th June 2014
Date of receipt of approval: WAITING
Date of receipt of documents: N/A
Date of receipt of registration certificate: WAITING

So, we're in the wait state at the moment.
The forum in general has been so helpful and this is my first post.
Urge people to post about their situations as it gives everyone else a picture of what's happening at the UKBA/Home Office end.

Updates:
5th Aug and 8th Aug:
Sent emails to Home Office at nationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and furthernationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. Received automated reply and no response about the status of the Application.
Called a couple numbers i picked up in this topic, but they all seem to be 'switched off' urging to visit the gov.uk website for further inquiries.

Hi there! My problem is i have got ILR last month on Long residency. I am Pakistani National. My Mrs from Mongolia and she does not Sort her status out here yet. I got 2 kids born here 5 & 3. I want to register them using form MN1 but i am confused about their Nationality. Or shall i use form S2,S3 as a stateless person.

If you can help me in this matter i will really appreciate. Thanks

Unfortunately we can only confirm that currently the application is ongoing as it has not yet reached the six month stage of consideration. We will contact you as soon as a decision has been made or if we require further information.

All applications for citizenship are subject to enquiries to ensure that the statutory requirements have been satisfied. Because of these enquires, we anticipate that applications may take up to six months to complete. Some applications may be dealt with more quickly and some may take longer, depending on the nature of the enquiries to be carried out. Our service standards set out how quickly we aim to decide applications for British citizenship. The standard is that we will decide 95% of applications within six months.

There no travel restrictions in place whilst the registration application is with UK Visas & Immigration.

Just like to get some idea of the time scales of my child registration's or naturalisation

I will put my details of submission of the naturalisation:

Got ILR for me and my wife on 12th June
Child born : 7th June
Submitted application for child on 28th June
Money taken out of account on 8th JUne
Council name if NCS used: Edinburgh Council

I have received the letter from UKBA to say its under progress and thats it

Any ideas why its taking so long ?

UKBA would not give a reason if you call.
Think they have diverted staff towards clearing backlog of passports (don't quote me on this)..
Sorry, its not helpful but seems no one has answers for the delay.

The requirements for MN1 are that
1)Children are born in the UK
2)At least one of the parents are setlled in the UK (have ILR)
It appears your children meets those status and can see why they can apply using MN1. I do not know much about either Pakistani or Mongolian Nationality law but under UK immigration law children takes their parents nationality when they are born unless either parents are British citizen or have settled status (then the children would be British at birth). Therefore the probablity is that your children either have both of you and your partner's nationality or at least one of them. I doubt if they are stateless.

I think you can use form MN1 for registering your kids, I take mine one for example, before I was granted ILR last December, my two kids are refugee status with their mother, once I had ILR , i used MN1 to register, and the applications have also been approved in March 2014.

Hi All,

I need an advise. I'm flying out of UK on the 19 Sept and coming back on the 19th Oct with my family. I applied my daughter's MN1 application on the 12 June and still nothing. My daughters visa Tier 1 General Dependent is expiring on the 2nd Oct.

My question is what if the MN1 application has not been processed by then what are the options will be available for my 2 year old, can she face problems entering the UK. Me and my wife are under ILR.

I found this forum very interesting as someone rightly said it gives us all an idea of the stage of our applications..

Based on Tsiya information on page 43...Im hopeful I should receive mine too very soon.. mathematically 2 weeks after 19th of Aug.
I know each cases are dealt differently..but this is taking a ridiculous amount of time!! I think they are really short of staff to deal with the scale of applications they receive on a daily basis...!!!
Because Tsiya submitted his/her application on 01st of May and she/he received the certificate on 19th of Aug!!

At last got the certificate, this forum is great help and I am true believer what goes around comes around, so help people and you will get help.
Just on a lighter note and with all due respect Nationality call centre are not of much help, all they say is 6 months time time line if you ring them although I am pretty much sure they can see the movment on their system but for unknown reasons to me they dont tell you the updates, On Monday lady who was ver helpful on phone luckily confirm me that case worker worked on my case 2 hours ago. Next day, I rang call handler said they cant see any letters being sent out and next day I got the certificate dated 2 days ago so,either they dont know or they aren't allowed to say in either case it not much help to ring. Good Luck to every one. Help other people always please.
