URGENT questions RE:passport application

Hi Guys,

I need urgent help with the following questions:

1. once send passport application via postoffice send and check, can i then request to have old passport back within 2 weeks?
2. if i can, how long will it take for them to send back my old passport?
3. do i have to re-send the old passport back once i finish my travel?
4. will this hugely delay my application
5. do they normally return your old passport to you with your new one or do they return your old passport as soon as they check it?
6. what's the normal time interval between the time when you submit your application to they return your old passport?

Your supporting documents and passport usually arrive about 1 week before you get the letter for the interview. If you have travel plans, why don't you delay applying for your British passport and apply when you return.

You can travel on your foreign passport and ILR.

my next travel will be a long term travel within 4 weeks, so can't delay it.

How long will you be away for?

I received my interview letter after 4 weeks I think (my daughter got hers after 10 days) but a point to note, HMPO did lose my foreign passport and naturalisation certificate which was eventually found and I only received them back 5 weeks after I received my British passport.
