applying for citizenship as an overstayer

Post by kya1104 » Tue Feb 03, 2015 12:03 am

hello,

I have obtained an ILR in 2012 based on 10 year long residence with a 6 week visa gap which happend from dec. 2008 to Jan 2009. I am planning to apply for a citizenship now and I am wondering if this visa gap will get me any trouble at all.

If I cannot apply it for any reason, I am thinking about my 6 year old daugther (ILR holder since 2012 and born in uk) applying for registraion on her own, would that be possible as a minor? If possible and my daugther becomes a british national, my and my ex's nationality is all different from my daughter's and would it cause any complications in any way, eg. going through immigration on return of holidaay or as such?

my last question is I have taken the LIUK test and submitted it when applying for ILR but I have not received the certificate back so I do not have anything to prove. would I be able to reobtain it through the test centre?

any advice would be so much apprecited.
thanks in advace

Since you have ILR you can register your child and having different passports will not be problem when entering the country.
just tick on AN form that you have passed the test, HO has your records.

Not sure about overstaying as usually when applying for ILR this is an issue. There is a member who has the similar problem and maybe you want to follow this tread:

I am sometimes wrong.
