'FAMILY OF A SETTLED PERSON' Visa (for CHILD)

I would be most grateful for advice on certain points in making this application:

1) In the 'SPONSOR'S DETAILS' section should the Sponsor be the PARENT of the child (he is the father of the child and he lives in the UK on an FLR(M) Visa but he would not be able to meet the financial requirements) OR the parent's [b]partner[/b] (a UK citizen and the person who provided the financial requirement for the parent's FLR(M) Visa but who is not related to the child)?

2) In the 'UNDER 18' section it asks "Who are you staying with in the UK?" but does NOT give as one of the choices 'father' (or 'mother'). This seems bizarre as children would usually be coming to stay with a parent, so have I misunderstood this?

3) Also in the 'UNDER 18' section it asks "Details of your parents/guardians in your home country". If the child does not live with or see his mother (even though she lives in the child's home country) but lives with the father's parents (the child's grandparents) then should the details be given as the name of the mother or of the grandmother (the person who does the caring of the child)? I ask this because in giving the mother's details it may seem as if the mother is the one doing the caring and so this could falsely undermine the father's case that he has sole responsibility for his son.

4) Which Appendix has to be completed to accompany this online application? It seems as if it may be VAF-4A (as this is the only Appendix I can find online) but I cannot be sure until AFTER I have submitted my online application. It confuses me as VAF-4A states that it CANNOT be used if the parent here in the UK does not have limited leave under the rules in force [b]before[/b] 9 July 2012 (and the parent obtained his FLR(M) initially in March 2013) and it says NOT to fill out Part 1 'Your Personal Circumstances' if the child's settled parent has limited leave (as is the case). I need to know which Appendix I will have to fill out so that I know which 'Additional Information' to add to the online application form before I submit it.

5) Is the person designated as 'Sponsor' on the online application the same person who will be the Sponsor in the Appendix (the person who will prove financial requirements) and also on Form SU07/12 (the person who will give the 'Sponsorship Undertaking)'?
