Hello all,
Just wanted to post my timeline as this forum has been really helpful while I was awaiting the coveted brown envelope!!! I must confess I have been very fortunate, as I believe mine has been rather quick and the whole process for me took about 2 1/2 months. I would have posted this earlier but I had issues verifying my email.
Date of Application: 21st September 2015
Eligibility criteria: spouse of an EEA citizen (5 years) + 1 year PR
Method of application: NCS North Shields
Payment method: visa card
Date of receipt by UKBA: Sent off by NCS on 21st sept 2015, received by Ukba on 22nd September 2015
Date of acknowledgement : letter received on 6th October 2015, dated 4th october 2015
Date money gone off account: 4th october 2015
Date of letter requesting biometrics: 4th October 2015 - came same day as acknowledgement letter.
Biometrics done: 12th October 2015
Date of approval : 4th December 2015 - approved and letter received 14th December 2015. I actually received my invite to the citizenship ceremony from the council (on the 12th December 2015 which was a Saturday) before the approval letter which was quite good, as i then knew I would be receiving my letter on Monday.
Date of ceremony : 13th January 2016, unfortunately, I would not be in the uk for this and tried to reschedule with the council. I was told the next ceremony would be on the 16th of March 2016 which unfortunately, would be after the 3 month period required to have the ceremony done. I have contacted home office and was given an email address in which to write asking for an extension but I have heard nothing yet..... Would keep you informed....

Date passports received : Waiting
Good luck all those still waiting, I know how frustrating it is always waiting for the postman to bring your brown envelope only to be disappointed. Hopefully it would be over soon.
