Child 7 years in UK route

Hello Experts,

I have read in UKBA site saying that "You may also be able to apply to remain with your child if they have lived in the UK for at least 7 years ".

Could you please let me know the details and the procedures for the same ?
Under which category we can apply for this ? Is there any complications involved ?

The 7 years is just the start - you also need to prove why it is unreasonable to expect the child to return to his country of nationality.

Are both parents from the same country? Relatives there? Language issues? Health? These are the sorts of things to consider.
