I had about 3 convictions on traffic with one fine with which is 1000 euros unpaid but I got my approval last and already did my ceremony.
Pls are both of u working without getting anything from the state.?
If so try to write them a compassionate letter that they should see and see depending on your case.
They listen to your pleading..that is what I did except I might not get the approval.
They are human beings....write a good letter to them...they will release your file in no short time

mick 2100 i applied since last year sep 2015 i got 2nd stage letter in jan i was questioned with garda no conviction or no court with irish spouse .plz advised me wat u did i m gone do same thing but i applied through solicitor buddy

I also applied through a solicitor. I think the department don't really like the idea of we using a solicitor to apply, however, it's not everyone who understand English language. My application is 27 months already .

Solicitor is going to write to Inis an ultimatum letter for 21 days final decision or else court letter will follow.

I am planning to apply for Irish naturalization next month but i have a confusion, In 2008 i was arrested by garda in temple bar (probably new year eve - cant remember at all) the arrest was for public order offense. I was taken to garda station but they let me go after 5-10 minutes after i explained what actually happened. Garda took my name and asked my address and told me to be careful and i was free to go home- there wasn't any followup to that.

Now i am wondering if i will have to mention this in the citizenship form or not? I believe that garda doesnt have any criminal record for me ( as i have been getting garda vetted every year due to nature of my job).

And can this matter complicate my application procedure?

any input on this please?

Now a days most of the cases got cleared within 6 month.
Now second stage take few weeks now it might take longer.
its wait and see game..
is ur application based on married to eu citizen??

Hi guys,

After 6 months application I received a letter stating my application has now been initially assessed and has proceeded to the second stage of processing. Your case will be submitted to the Minister for decision as soon as our enquires are complete and all required documentation has been compiled.

I am quite lost now, I was reading some posts and most of people mentioned that second stage took around 6 months. Is this normal? If that is the correct time frame my application will be over a year then. Quite disappointed. I sent all documentations.

Does anyone know how long would take the second stage to be clear?

I guess your application is in advance level of the 2nd stage coz now-a-days they just give 1 letter for both 1st & 2nd stage together.
In my own case, i got 1 letter bit lately writing same story as yours and after that in less than 2 months got approval.
So i would say you should receive good-news in about 2 months if not early.

Hey Guys I got my approval today and posted draft, GNIB card and 2 photographs today. My timelines are

Posted on 23 of March
received on 28 of March

waiting for Ack then i rang the office on 26th of May and lady said you should have got the ACK letter. she searched for my application and couldnt find my application. She took my no and said she will contact me. then in Lunch time she rang me and said she found my application.

ACK + second stage letter on 31 of May
I emailed them on 9th Aug got below reply

Your application continues to be processed. While it is not possible to
give an exact timeframe, this office will be in touch as soon as a decision
has been reached.

Many Many congratulations

now i am getting some idea how they process.
Almost all the application till end of Feb got approval and joined Sep ceremony. starting from March getting approval now. and April May June applications should join 25 Nov ceremony.

i also got same reply form Niall. seems Niall works in advance stage dept and Tony works with Initial stage team. Now in Oct i should get approval as i applied at end of April.

All Guess we can play with guessing.

mate congratulations.. Happy for you... So it means they take 6 months in total... sent email and got the same reply again stating "continues to be processed.....".. it means you applied march 2016 and got reply now.. I applied June so most probably seeing your timeline realistically speaking I won't be included in this years last ceremony.. but hey you never know... So far they didn't ask for any other documentation so I assume that things are kinda fine so far after 3 1/2 months...

i applied 26th April 2016
Based on EUFem 5 years residence. Got acknowledgement in 4 weeks.
never got 2nd stage letter.
2 months ago i got my permanent residence. i sent INIS new passport copy and GNIB card.

1 month ago i sent them email asking for update. they said "this dept do not need anymore doc from you and contact me once some decision is there"
1 week ago i sent email again. reply was " application in process update you etc "

thanks for the detailed reply. my gut feeling says that you should be looking around early to mid October.. I think by the October bank holiday you should be celebrating.

I applied Early June and if lucky should get approval by end of October or early Nov.. lets see how it goes...

if we see the track record i should get something middle of October, based on that i applied in april. i think this is how timeline goes when there is no complication.
but we never know they may find some issue where they need more details from tax office etc or Garda.

I got first letter after 25 days with acknowledgement receipt,

2nd letter received 18april required my spouse
last 5 years all docs.

And July I send them email for update my applications
I got this response after 3days from department:-
