You've already had adequate answers and assurance about this.vijaymorenau wrote:Hi all,
I came across this post and eventhough I know its pretty old , i am in a similar situation so thought I can ask for some help. I have a tier 1 work visa which i got an year back. I was travelling to ireland through heathrow aiport and eventhough i had a tier 1 visa the immigration officer stamped me a temporary entry for transit valid for 24 hours and let me board the plane.
I am not eligible for transit visa and hence the immigration officer has wrongly stamped the temp visa making the old visa invalid.
I am not sure if the old visa is now invalidated? Can you pls give me some info on this as to waht happened in your case. Did they issue a new work permit or the old one was still ok after the new stamp? Pls help as I am clueless and I am outside the uk is adding to more confusion.Should i get a letter in writing form immigration officer saying its still valid? Thx in advance

So it seems that this has happened to someone else before, however, each time I contact someone they tell me something different and as you can understand, I am completely stressed out as this is my life and working ability!
I have a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa and entered the UK on 5 March 2010, Visa expires 4 March 2012.
I went to France for a day trip, I came back through at the Calais Folkestone Port of Coquelle, the IO stamped my passport with a 6 month tourist visa and I didn't really understand or question this until I thought about it and I was back in England.
Calling the UKBA I've been told that the stamp supersedes my other visa and that I cannot work. I have submitted a complaint hoping that this will be resolved as I cannot go back to the port, as it was in France! I've also been told that because I've submitted a complaint against the newest stamp it voids it until the complaint is resolved, so my current and actual visa, YMS tier 5 is valid again.
One side have told me I need a letter, another have said I need to submit a complaint. Why did they do this to me!
Can anyone give me some straight forward, no nonsense advice on how to resolve this. I don't have a fancy pants lawyer to call on, it is just me.
