Appointment booking history
1) Date - 07/10/2018 - Payment (GBP 2999.00) made and appointment booked for 19th Nov @ 10:20 am
2) Date - 15/10/2018 - Appointment rescheduled for 30th Oct @ 09:00 am
However, later on 24th Oct, I realised that my last month salary was credited on 27th Sep ( due to last working day falling on weekend) but current month salary is expected on 31st Oct.
Technically, my salary is not credited in last 30 days on the day of appointment. Hence, I started looking to reschedule my appointment.
3) After rigorously checking appointments for almost 48 hours, I got lucky on 26th and found cancelled slot at around 2pm and booked it immediately.


Application review.
Case review and decision took longer (5 hours) than expected but approved with NO question.
It seemed the centre was under staffed delay experienced by most of the applicants on that day.
My current employer did not include some of the leaves in absence letter where I worked from remote location for about 2 weeks (on three occasions) and used compensatory offs to travel abroad (2 events - 5 days). I put that note in cover letter and included salary slips & bank statements to prove I was paid for those missing periods.
Secondly, my T2 General Visa was issued on 19th Sep, 2013 but I only started working with my current employer on 11th Nov, 2013. I included relieving letter from previous employer to prove that I was employed during time window of 19th Sep till 11th Nov 2013 ( I was not given P45 but only P60).
Lastly, I also put a note that my dependents are not applying ILR at the same time as they are not eligible (not completed 5 years). This was to avoid any query from case worker.

My wife applied for ILR based on 5 years stay on PBS dependant visa.
Application was processed in 2 hours. We submitted the application and went out for eating/shopping, and they gave us a call to inform that it was ready to collect.

This forum has been really useful and thanks to moderators and users for sharing valuable information and advise.

Thought I will share my experience with everyone. My Tier 2 to ILR application got approved last Saturday.

I went for a same day appointment at Croydon on 10-Nov-2018. My appointment was at 1PM so went in at 12:45 pm. Got my decision @ 5:40 PM. I was the last one to leave the building

I submitted the following documents:

1. Appointment Booking Checklist
2. Completed SET (O) Application Form
3. Consent Form
4. Current Passport & Old Passport
5. Biometric residence permit (current)
6. 2 Identical photographs with full name on the back
7. Life in the UK Test PASS certificate
8. Master’s degree certificate
9. Personal bank statements for the recent 3 months
10. Recent 3 months’ Payslips
11. Last 4 years P60 endorsed by the current employer
12. Letter from current employer confirming annual salary, SOC Code, continued employment, annual leave eligibility and pay slip is authentic (online payslips)
13. Letter explaining missing absence letter from previous employer
14. PSW Visa (BRP copy - period before Tier 2 General)

I made 4 mistakes in the online form. I updated the print out with sticky notes as per advise from moderators and users from this forum. Thanks everyone.

During the appointment, I informed the person who collected my documents. She made some notes in the system and collected all the sticky notes and placed it top of my passport (so the case worker can see it).

It was a long wait but good news at the end

Hi All

My wife had an appointment today in croydon @12:50 but we arrived early, entered in the building and all security checks by 12:00 , got token by 12:10 then right after a minute called for case registration, lady took all documents and they dont take photographs anymore, lady registered the case and asked to sit on red chairs, by 12:20 biometric done, we have kids who were bit hungry that time we decided to go out for snaks. Soon we came in the building I heard the announcement for our token , i went to tesk 43 and they returned the documents and approval letter. All process took 55 Minutes, we were out of building by 1:10, was quick and impressive service now.

My wife was on PBS Dependent (Tier 1 General) , there is no need for cohabitation documents for many years for this category, no financial requirement only you need mandatory documents which
Life in the uk and English language test and thats all.

• Declaration signed to confirm consent for the Home Office to request verification checks (you can download this from last page of your online application process)

• Photocopies of previous Biometric Residence Permits, Visa stamps in my passport. (This is not a requirement)

• Letters from Home Office confirming my previous visa applications (This is not a requirement)

• Photocopies of all pages in passport with entry and exit stamps. (This is not a requirement)

I made couple of mistakes on my online form but then corrected them on the printout with pen/hand. No one mentioned anything about these corrections. (as suggested by CR001 and thanks for your help).

keep it as simple as you can. Appointment was early in the morning and application was decided within 40 mins. Yes, it was very quick!

My main issue was that I had a total of 719 absences during the qualifying period which were mostly offshore North sea oil platforms. None of these were up to 180 days in any calendar year. I had prepared a detailed spreadsheet and pointed same out to the lady when handing in the form. I was really anxious about this but ended up causing no issues at all. Please ensure your documents are kept as simple as possible and I used sticky notes to label each of the documents. Also made 2 copies each of all the documents.

Tier 2 - 5 Year Route
History - 2 years Commonwealth work/study permit, then 5 years of Tier 2 spouse

We provided financial proofs for both of us just in case, as we both earn above the £18,600 threshold and I wanted to provide all of my info as well as back up. I wrote a cover letter for each section (me financial, her financial, cohabitation etc) to clearly explain what was included to avoid any errors on their part. The lists of docs that others in this thread have provided were followed except that my wife's HR dept were difficult and only confirmed job title and start date, so I included a covering letter to say that salary could be proven by the payslips, contract and P60s. we took along my wife's old passport at the last minute just in case, turned out they needed it as it had the vignette for her first work/study visa inside.

I included photocopies of everything except my bank statements (which I had forgotten!) but this wasn't brought up.

I was also unable to get a Halifax ban statement for October, so printed one off at work on a colour printer, couldn't get it stamped but it wasn't mentioned.

We used the old SET (M) form printed out, I was worried about this due to the new system coming in and the form being no longer available (thank you to those who posted an archived copy here) but this wasn't even mentioned at the appointment.

Not a bad experience, staff were friendlier than I remembered from previous appointments, the screens in the cafe waiting area were broken however, so we had to just listen to the numbers being called out for hours, had a couple of false starts because of this.

My application was fairly straightforward considering that I studied here for 1 yr before getting Tier 2 job in UK and then worked for the single employer for 5 years and was applying after completing 5 years. Although I was worried that I might have forgotten some document, I should have , in hindsight, been confident due to nature of the application. There was a long wait between the BRP readings and me being called for handing the letter out. I think not many ppl left during this period and this may be due to the fact that it was nearly lunch time when I applied. I applied on a Thursday and received my BRP on Monday.

My wife and I are from different countries. We met here and never experienced living outside this country. We have our children here and they never been outside.
2-!Yes I have friends from my country of birth. They are my childhood friend and from school as well. I gave 3 friends name xxxx

3-No I am not part of any social groups instead my friends and I use the social networks such as Facebook, WhatsApp... to socialise.

I kept it as simple as as possible added or invented nothing more.

I couldn't see any where on the application where they ask about detail of my British children (they are not applicants)

Yes, I do have family in my country of birth. I have my parents names( mom and dad) and I also have brothers and sisters but didn’t give their names.
I only mentioned my children’s names on the blank space where they asked for other reasons to stay in this country. Then provide their birth certificates and letters from school proving that I am registered to their school as emergency contact or as a parent.
No need mentioning them anywhere else.
