Apply to Join UK British Citizen from India

Post by ez_1234 » Thu Apr 11, 2019 8:29 pm

Hi Guys,

Got a query for my friend who is a british citizen since 2015. His wife lived with him for couple of years 2010 - 2012 in UK after their marriage in 2007 on dependant visa. They had one kid here in UK (with indian passport now) and when his wife was pregnant with second she left UK for India and stayed back. Due to family support and variety reasons she stayed back till now and wants to be back. They have couple of more kids now and all of them want to join their father in UK now.

Can you please advise if his wife needs to fill VAF online form (and appendix 2 vaf4A) seperately for her kids and herself or are they part of a single form. Also immigration surcharge needs to be paid seperately or needs to be paid together for all of them.

My friend tried to fill in the online form and although it asked for the number of kids etc the final payment page had fees in INR for single person (after payment of single person IHS in INR).

He is since confused and wants some advice. Wonder if senior members can help. Thank you.

Technically it will be one family visa application which will include all kids below 18 years of age. I am not familiar with the Visa4UK website though

A VAF4A form for each application. An apple dix 2 form for each applicant.

Visa fee if £1523 each and IHS fee of £1200 each.

How many children are there?

Does he meet the financial requirement?

Are any of the children born after the father became British??

Thanks for the reply CR001. There are four children with one child born in India (2017) after he became British citizen (2015). He is a doctor so he meets the financial requirements. (£27500 for 3 child + £2200 per child I think) Is there a different form to fill for the fourth kid? All of kids and his wife are on Indian passport.

Thank you very much for your advice. 🤓😆Appreciate the time you guys spare to do this. 👍🏾

Child born after he became British can apply for a British passport directly or for a Certificate of Entitlement to Right of Abode (CoE/RoA).
Is there a different form to fill for the fourth kid?
Either British passport or CoE/RoA which is a vignette on the Indian passport and expires when the Indian passport does. This option is cheaper than a visa and once the child is in the UK, they can apply for a British passport.
