ILR application

Post by yh11 » Sun Nov 24, 2019 12:58 pm

HI,
I need some help please.
I am on a 5 year Tier 2 (General) visa from 20/01/2015 to 20/01/2020.

In January 2020 (before expiry of my visa), I am applying for ILR through the priority service.

I have two questions:
- When applying up to 28 days before expiry of my current visa for ILR, would this only mean submitting the application? Or both submitting the application as well as getting the appointment at visa centre inside the 28 days? If it's both then i am worried as i might not get appointment before 20/01/2020.
- I encountered a question in ILR application about any penalties for driving offence. Would this include Bus Lane penalty charge? At the moment i have 0 penalty points on driving record.

Many thanks in advance.

You will be eligible for ILR 28 days from completing your 5 years. So technically you can submit and get ILR on the same day

Only convictions matter. Driving fines and points are irrelevant

Thank you for replying.

I am still a little confused. If i for instance submit application on 1st January 2020 (which is within 28 days of expiry on 20th January 2020) but get my appointment for fingerprints etc after 20th January, would it still be OK? The reason i ask this is because it can sometime take longer to get appointment due to the high volume of applications.

Yes!! Date of application is the date you submit and pay online. Your biometric appointment date is irrelevant.

Thank you for replying.

Do you agree with the above that I do not need to mention Bus Lane penalty charge in the driving offence section of the form?

Also the payslips & bank statements have to be dated no earlier than one calendar month before the date of the application. But what about the letters from employer? How earlier can they be dated before application?

Finally, besides my BRP, it further requires Evidence of my immigration status in the UK. What kind of evidence would that be?

As always, many thanks in advance.

Your employer and pay documents must be dated within 28 days before the date of application.

It is only your brp you need, nothing else for evidence of immigration status.

Not sure about bus lane penalty.
