Travelling Abroad while Application under consideration

Post by 9elizabeth » Sun Dec 08, 2019 5:02 pm

Hi all,
A friend of mine applied for ILR based on 200K Ent visa 2 months ago. He has given his bio metrics (finger prints) to the centre and have not heard anything yet from home office. After taking his biometric/Finger prints Sopra Setria returned his passport and biometric card.

He needs to travel to Italy for 2 weeks now. Can he do that? Somebody told him that if he travels now (as his application is awaiting decision with HO) his application will be considered as "withdrawn".

Can somebody please advise who has been in the same situation?

Thanks for your quick reply.

If he travels out of the UK while an application is pending with HO, his application will be considered withdrawn and he will lose his fees.

Refer your friend to this forum who can register and ask his question himself. Tell him that it will be treated as withdrawn if he travels while having a pending application.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Segal - I did not know that you can ask questions only related to your own case...not for others....!!!
The forum is moderated and if they do not have any objections, you have no authority/morility to tell people what to do.

By the way, thanks for answering the question.

It was a relevant and important question.
